IMPULS II Electric Multiple Unit is distinguished by its functionality and implementation of cutting-edge design solutions.

It draws from the first series of IMPULS family EMUs and it has been built based on the experience NEWAG S.A. gained during their production in collaboration with our customers. IMPULS II derives from the IMPULS 36WEa, 31WE, 45WE which comply with the requirements imposed by the Regulations of the European Commission issued in 2014, namely: TSI LOC&PAS, TSI SRT, TSI NOI, TSI PRM and TSI CCS. It also holds WE certificates issued by Instytut Kolejnictwa [Railway Research Institute] for subsystem ROLLING STOCK.

Safety was of utmost importance for design engineers during the process of designing this rail vehicle. The driver’s cab layout fully complies with the principles of ergonomics. A specially-designed control panel fitted around the driver’s seat enables him to notice objects located close to the train front.

Available train configurations

The IMPULS 2 structure, in particular, the frame structure, makes it possible to configure the floor height at 620 and 7260mm. Moreover, it is possible to configure the EMU with a variable number of doors, depending on carriers’ requirements.

IMPULS 2 EMUs can also be fitted with a diesel power module which can be connected with the vehicle as a separately coupled module or it can constitute a part of the trainset.

Apart from various trainset lengths, different passenger compartment layouts are possible which makes it possible to operate these EMUs not only on urban and suburban but also on long-distance routes.
