IMPULS officially handed over to Opolskie Province

Today, a 36WEa elec­tric mul­ti­ple unit manu­fac­tu­red by NEWAG S.A. for the Opol­skie Pro­vince under an exe­cu­tive con­tract signed on 29 Octo­ber 2015, was offi­cially han­ded over in Opole.

The event was atten­ded by repre­sen­ta­ti­ves of NEWAG headed by Zbi­gniew Konie­czek, NEWAG’s Pre­si­dent and repre­sen­ta­ti­ves of the Marshal’s Office of the Opol­skie Pro­vince led by Andrzej Buła, Mar­shal him­self, as well as repre­sen­ta­ti­ves of the city and regio­nal authorities.

IMPULS 36 WEa tra­ins manu­fac­tu­red for the Opol­skie Pro­vince feature state-of-the–art drive and bra­king sys­tems, air-conditioning, modern audio-video pas­sen­ger infor­ma­tion sys­tem and a moni­to­ring sys­tem. Pas­sen­gers tra­vel­ling in com­for­ta­ble con­di­tions can recharge their elec­tro­nic devi­ces using 230V elec­tric soc­kets instal­led at each of 176 seats and they have a free wi-fi access. The EMUs are adap­ted for car­ry­ing pas­sen­gers with redu­ced mobi­lity and for trans­por­ting bicyc­les. They tra­vel at a maxi­mum ope­ra­tio­nal speed of 160 km/h.

In its basic ver­sion, the con­tract signed with the Opol­skie Pro­vince guaran­tees a deli­very of five EMUs by 31.01.2018 with an option for two addi­tio­nal tra­ins to be deli­ve­red by 10.12.2018. The net value of the con­tract in its basic ver­sion is PLN 51,300,000. The net value of the con­tract with the option is PLN 71,820,000.
